The good news is that you are not at the bottom of the food chain when you enter the water and you can ride a few waves without having a salty taste in your mouth after swimming, soft sand and you can enjoy the walk. Relax by Lake Michigan or climb and break down the slopes.
There are routes throughout the National Park. You can walk through the forest or climb the sand dunes or do both.
There are plenty of areas for fishing or relaxing. Floating trips at Ludington are very popular. Many visitors start at the dam within the park and spend a few hours traveling, which leads to Lake Michigan in the pipeline that buys or leases at the park.
Sunsets by Big Sable Point Lighthouse located at State Park is pretty stunning. You can also watch the lighthouse during the day with a small fee.
If you decide to walk to the beach lighthouse, Ludington State Park is prepared to walk for 2 miles each way and you can not drive directly to the lighthouse. On some days there is a bus that can take you to the lighthouse for a fee. You may consider cycling so you can get back to the campground faster when it’s dark.
